Merry Christmas!

"For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord"
Luke 2:11

Today is a wonderful day (although it should be everyday) to remember what took place over 2000 years ago, predestined in eternity past before man had yet to be created. The birth of the awaited Messiah, the Savior, Christ the Lord. It is a day to celebrate not only His birth, while at the same time be humbled by the condition in which the God of the universe was brought into this world, but to celebrate His life, His death and His resurrection. It is a day, if you are a Christian, to thank God for His salvation which by His grace we have received; if you are not a Christian, today is the day of Salvation, a day to look within and see our wretched sinfulness and to look to Jesus the God-man who on the cross bore our sins, received the punishment we deserve, died and on the third day resurrected, so that we through repentance and faith in Him may be saved, and be justified before the Lord. It is a day to spend in prayer whether it be in thanksgiving and/or repentance, a day to celebrate Christ the Lord and saviour. So go spend it as you will but before you do and while you are still on the internet, here are a few articles/videos/blogs you should, I correct myself you must read:

2. Is it dangerous to Celebrate Christmas?: Deconstructing Christmas by Jen Guerriero

Not so good Mr. Phillips they brought "Santa" on Christmas eve and I got yelled at for trying to uncover the lie, even worse there was another family gathering this friday for a gift exchange and the night ended with my mom showing her true heart in regards to me being a Christian and the catholic church be the "only" church. But this morning a friend pointed me to the Scriptures and I was very much encouraged by the Lord and His word, God is so good :).
Thanks so much for your prayers! please keep on praying for me and my family.

Oh, Rita, I'm sorry to hear that. You don't want Christmas to be a tense time; yet Christ does divide, even within a family. When I was saved, I was pretty much alone in my family as well (age 17). I know how it feels to love them, but have that point of sharp division.

Isn't the Santa-thing odd? They insist that it's just a fun game, just for play, they're not lying to children. But if you tell kids that the Santa-myth isn't true, they're enraged. Well, which is it? Are you deceiving children, or not?

"Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (Matthew 5:11-12).

Have any of your family members come to Christ yet?

And yes the Santa-thing is just ridiculous, my mom says its just "an illusion" kids have and its "part of their childhood". it always fascinates me how people redefine terms and things to justify their acts.
But thank you so much for asking and for the encouragement :)
God bless you!
