Super Short Knit Socks

Super short knit socks
Pattern: Super Simple Short Sock by Meghann Holcomb (For those of you who don't have a ravelry account, by the way why not???, here's the link: Super Simple Short Sock by Meghann Holcomb)
Size: 9" for a size 7.5
Needle: US 2 - 2.75 mm
Yarn : Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Stripe
How much? 0.85 skeins = 182.8 yards (167.1m)

I named this project they way I did because I didn’t entirely stick to the pattern…as usual.
The pattern gets kind of confusing when you get to the part of the gusset, so instead I resorted to Silver’s Sock Class as usual, that is undoubtedly the best sock knitting instruction out on the web!
So for future reference I did:
5 rounds of twisted ribbing,
9 pattern repeats of the Heel
Round 1: Sl1 k1
Round 2: Sl1, Purl to end
Round 3: Sl1, K1, Sl1 to last st then Knit
Round 4: Sl1, Purl to end
Then for the shaping I used Silver’s Sock Class Heel Shaping instruction:
Round 1: Knit 18, k2tog, k1, turn
Round 2: Sl1, K5, K1 more then turn
Round 3: Sl1, Purl to within one stitch of last turn, P2tog, P1, Turn.
Round 4: Sl1, Knit to within one stitch of last turn, K2tog, K1 and turn
Repeat 2 and 3 until all stitches on both sides have been worked on
Then for the gusset I used Silver’s sock class gusset instruction:
Round 1: Knit all sts
Round 2: Needle #2 k1, SSK, k to last 3, K2tog, K.
Round 3: Knit all around.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until 64 sts remain between 3 needles, 16, 32 and 16.
Then I knit 55 rows of stockinette St and then finally
Round 1: Knit all sts
Round 2: on Needle #1 K to last 3 sts. K2tog, k
Needle #2 k1, SSK, k to last 3, K2tog, K. On Needle #3 k1, SSK, k
Round 3: Knit all around.
repeat rounds 2 and 3 until 16 sts remain(20 rounds) then finish off grafting the toes.
